Good for People
We have never been so creative with our homes and how we use them. With a Plant Conservatory you can build a truly unique space onto your home: for new workspace, to cope with a growing family, for social occasions, for day to day living or for all these uses.
Once you have a Plant Conservatory you will see how it supports and encourages the growth and welfare of you, your family and your plants – let your imagination run riot!
The history of the conservatory is absolutely about plants, with their origins being for overwintering tender specimens. With the Renaissance came a fashion for collecting and caring for new plants from around the world. Firstly these were in structures closer to the Orangery, and gradually, as we dispensed with heavy masonry, they became brighter structures of glass and iron or timber.
Today conservatories are about a bright home extension, but with their large area of glass, they often become spaces that are too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, making them inhospitable to plants and people for large parts of the year.
Everything Alitex have learned from our horticultural background will work just as well for people as for plants – higher levels of ventilation to maintain a comfortable environment during the summer, and an effective heating system for the colder months are crucial in creating a space for you to enjoy 365 days a year.
A Plant Conservatory is an opportunity for a genuinely different living space – bright and fresh – a thriving indoor garden for work, rest or play.

"...what do you think of a metal as white as silver, as unalterable as gold, as easily melted as copper, as tough as iron, which is malleable, ductile, and with the singular quality of being lighter than glass?"
Charles Dickens on the subject of Aluminium 1893. |
